This Bass is Stunning! Personally I am a jazz bass player but when I saw this instrument, well...I had to have one myself. The finish and look is spectacular and eye catching. The wood grain through the thin lacquer finish (yes I said Laquer) is beautiful and with the anodized pick guard, stunning. This instrument thumps and growls. Fender really has captured the sound of the early 50s P bass with this one. You can achieve those classic R&B tones with ease. And if you push the output and gain it easily captures that push and growl of punk. The neck is large and comfortable and combined with this fantastic piece of Alder, a match made in guitar heaven.
The nitrocellulose lacquer finish not only lets the body breathe with its true tonal character, it also ages and wears in a distinctively personal way.
American Original instruments feature specially voiced pickups crafted to reproduce authentic Fender sound.
This Precision Bass features a thick “C”-shaped neck profile delivered straight from the ‘50s to your hands. Remarkably comfortable, it suits any playing style.
Original-era fans can rest assured every curve and line of the body and neck are accurate to the historic originals.
From the bridge to the string tree and tuning machines, every piece of hardware is just like the original.
This 9.5”-radius fingerboard is slightly flatter than a vintage-style 7.25” radius, providing a comfortable fret-hand feel. Vintage-tall frets make it easier to add vibrato to your basslines.

When Fender announced these models we were very...
