Oh my oh my oh my! This, we were not ready for. From first glance she had us...but then we put our hands on her and the rock n roll ride of fury began! This is one mean, gritty, and growling machine with a beautiful smile ready to take your guitar playing to new and terrifying heights! We could not help ourselves from smiling as we chugged along on this instrument. The bridge pickup has a very powerful and rounded tone, not the twangy tele tone from the Opry but something entirely different. Whereas the neck has a great "woody" quality to it. It just feels like 1950's Rock N Roll when you play that neck pickup on a clean Fender amp. You can almost see Buddy Holly coming on down and saying "Hey, that a mighty nice looking geetar you have there. Mind if I take a try at her?" But maybe thats just our ears ringing telling us that after playing her at way too loud of volumes!
She is made of a hand selected light piece of Ash and has a wonderful quarter sawn maple neck with 6105 frets. The '57 "V" style neck has nicely rounded shoulders almost bringing her in line with a fat "C." The hand wound pickups are as we said...amazing and the greasbucket tone circuit you really do get a cleaner sounding guitar when you roll the tone down a bit (the high frequencies are reduced without adding bass ones).
Once you pack her in to the deluxe custom shop tweed case and fill her with the appropriate case candy, you have one spectacular rock n roll machine!
